MoH: Hypertension Kill 8 Million People Each Year Worldwide

Jakarta- The Ministry of Health has distributed as many as 153 units of blood pressure measuring device independent to 64 ministries and agencies.Health Minister Nila Djuwita Moeloek call destination given the tools to prevent and control non-communicable diseases in Indonesia.
“We hope that this equipment can be used to the maximum in order to prevent and control non-communicable diseases in Indonesia,” said Minister Nila in PMK Kemenko Office, Jl Medan Merdeka Barat, Gambir, Wednesday (02/22/2017).
The tools were symbolically by the Coordinating Ministry of Human Development and Culture (PMK) is the efforts made by the ministry of health.The effort is based on several health data and encourages their preventive measures.
“As we are aware of heart disease and blood vessels is a major health problem in developed and developing countries. Data World Health Organization (WHO) in 2012, approximately 17.5 million or equivalent to 30.97 percent of the 56.5 million deaths throughout the the world’s caused by heart disease and blood vessels, “he said.
Health Minister Nila added according to the World Health Organization in 2011, one billion people worldwide suffer from hypertension, two thirds of whom are in developing countries, including Indonesia.He called that number will continue to increase with the prediction that by 2025 about 29 percent of adults worldwide suffer from hypertension.
“Hypertension has resulted in the deaths of about 8 million people every year, 1.5 million deaths occurred in Southeast Asia that third of the population suffer from hypertension,” he said.
